Long trusting insurance company looking to join digital world
Kaus is a big player in the insurance market as they have been around for over 30 years. They offer variety of coverages as their competitors, but have been losing users due to their lack of presence in the web and mobile experiences. They are looking to jump in and reach out to the younger generation as they are moving towards an internet-centric world.
KAUS (Alias) Web • Mobile Design
My Role: User Experience • User Interface
Duration: February 2021 - March 2021
What is the problem?
Kaus is a project-based “insurance” company that has neglected entering the digital market. This has caused the business to miss out on the opportunities of getting clients to sign up for their insurance, which could lead to losing billions of dollars compared to their competitors.
The Challenge
To help Kaus navigate and compete with other competitors in the same market, a responsive user interface was created to cater to the younger generation as the world through research and testing.
Project Goals
Research
Wireframes
Create responsive designs for web and mobile
Design Process
Stage 1: Empathize
-
Competitive Analysis
Comparing and gathering data from the brands with the biggest presence. Specifically looking at their strengths and weaknesses
(See Image below)
-
User Interviews
Ages between 27-36
All participants have at least one insurance (Mostly Auto)
3/5 participants have or looking for disability or liability insurance
All of participants look for cost-effective insurance with decent umbrella coverage
Stage 2: Analysis
-
Provisional Persona
Looking at 3 different personas to encapsulate various life-stages
-
Empathy Map
Data derived into emotions to understand frustrations and happiness regarding insurance
Stage 3: Ideate
-
Wireframes
Variations of the wireframes were made to get the ideas into inception
With the wireframes in place, the brand style was created to help the direction of the brand and go into testing to receive feeback
These are the initial high fidelity
mockups to go into testing
Stage 4: Validate & Test
-
After multiple usability tests, there were two items that needed another look:
COLOR and LAYOUT
-
The research showed some accessibility issues with the previous brand tile so it went to a more inclusive direction
Stage 5: Finalize & Next steps
Go into further testing regarding the process checkout of acquiring car/home insurance. Also see if there are accessibility or inclusive
